Oh, Sushiq, baby I love you, sushiq...

But first, some shiny, empty chairs.

I wonder where the spring weather is. Our temp dropped from 13°C to 9°C (55°F to 48°F) and we got a small hail shower. Then the sun came out (sort of). It's been windy all day, and I decided it wasn't worth trying to bike into the wind other than to ride downtown for a few minutes to pump up my tires on the work bike.

Westbound etc.

One last shot in the village before heading home.

Albag...? I think one of these would make a cool small house.

The devil made me shoot this.

And an alternate take...

Just a note: I don't look like this anymore. I shaved off the hair and the goatee this afternoon. This is the ninth year of shaving my head, and is likely the last. I got used to just having really short hair and it's a lot less maintenance. I may not go the entire summer as a bald guy. We'll see if I can get a good tan going. If not, I'll let the hair grow back. It doesn't take very long :-)

Eastbound etc.

A while back my brother bought a minivan near Ottawa and asked me go with him to drive his car back. I had this camera that I like to take everywhere...

No idea what this is.

Odd little house in the village where we picked up the van.

I don't know why Charity needs air, or how you'd get it to her, but there it is.

Doors and windows

As they say, watch out for that first step...

This part is still used by Novelis, the company that was spun off from Alcan. Novelis has since been bought up by the Indian firm Hindalco.

The sun is finally out, and I'm sitting here instead of riding my bike. I think as soon as my clothes are dry I shall remedy that.

Scrap, heap, scrap heap

An awful lot of steel went into building the aluminum plant.

'58 Chevy Biscayne. Not perfect, but drivable and still cool.

I hope the Michelin man got out ok.

Phoebe will never know the pleasures of lawn bowling

I knew about Phoebe, but I didn't even know we had a lawn bowling club.

It started raining last night. There is a chance of a thunderstorm, so the Snowbirds' airshow tonight has been cancelled. It looks like rain until Friday afternoon.

It must be cold in that window.

Students leave a heck of a lot of stuff behind when they leave the city in the spring. A person could furnish an apartment, easy.

A copper Sunday

A few weeks ago, Royal Military College had an event they call Copper Sunday an event with a long tradition. I was there to get photos of the cadets as they marched from the RMC campus to the doors of City Hall.

Went to the Toucan as per usual. It was a small group, but meh. I ended up having three beers. After that, we drove out to the bus station and picked up Chris and Emily, and then came back to the Toucan for another beer.

Off to the liquor store, where I bought a bottle of Smirnoff Mojito, and went to a party less than a block from the store. I proceded to drink the entire bottle of Mojito over the next three hours.

I don't feel so good today, kinda washed out, maybe still a bit drunk. Time for breakfast!

About that new bike...

This is my new bike, a 2009 GT Outpost 24 speed mountain bike. Disc brakes and a shock absorbing fork. The coil around the stem below the handlebars is my cable lock. I bought this bike too soon. I should have researched first and then bought. I think a nice single speed would have suited me better. I might just sell this...

Here are a couple of location shots. This one is City Park, across the street from the lake, and close to Queens University, Kingston General Hospital and the County Courthouse.

This is the new fountain at the rebuilt Market Square. The Springer family donated $1M to the reconstruction, and the city added their name to the official designation, but everybody calls it the Market, not Springer Market Square.

Douglas A. Hmm. I wonder what his middle name was...?

Shiny skins, looking out the windows

I traded that bike in on my new one, which now parks in the same spot in the living room.

How would YOU link these together?

They are all from the same property.

I hate working at 4 AM

But here I am again. It's a good thing that Ray doesn't take all his vacation time or I'd have to do this four times a year :-)

I managed to get everything done that needed to be done before I left yesterday. Rather than take the truck to the bank, drive back and then bicycle home, I just rode the bike uptown instead. It probably didn't take any longer than trying to squeeze through rush hour traffic with a vehicle. I was a bit more aggressive on the bike yesterday.

It is going to be a sunny and warm day. I finally can wear shorts again.

Ciaozers
