Maybe it was early evening, late summer. I forget.

  1. Sometimes I think photography's as much about capturing the light as the "subject." Or the light is the subject. Nice moods you capture/create/evoke. Whatever...

When the sun's low it does some amazing things here in the mountains.

  2. Slanted light is the best, Intell. It lights things we don't notice otherwise, and hides the things we don't mind missing for a while.

Thank you, but I capture only; the creation is out of my hands, what is evoked is in the eye of the beholder :-)

  3. You capture what leads the mind to wonder. That's what I like about your blog. Your photos are more than just images that I look at and leave. Often I try to figure out what is happening....like the figure in the first image. Is he running? It's a contrast to the stillness of that bench.

  4. I wonder a lot, A. Even when I'm there to see what's happening. It's only fair that I should pass along some of that confusion :-)

  5. You've hit on one of my favorite painting themes...the play of light common objects. It's why I like Hopper so much. Good stuff dude.

  6. I have never seen a real Hopper, but I agree, he painted light as much as scenery. Thanks,jj.
