I knew about Phoebe, but I didn't even know we had a lawn bowling club.

It started raining last night. There is a chance of a thunderstorm, so the Snowbirds' airshow tonight has been cancelled. It looks like rain until Friday afternoon.

  1. She has had a lot of work done over many years, Kate. I'm glad she is back in the city of her birth :-)

  2. That is a nice boat, Doug...there should be a lot of interesting history behind her.

  3. The link takes you to an outdated page about her history and current status. Phoebe has been around, Burst.

  4. There are a number of boats of similar design built by the gilded era robber barons. They are the epitome of water art. In Houston, we have an event called Keels and Wheels in which you can see these old boats. It has been awhile since I've been because I always went with my father and he is no longer able to make the trip. Thanks for posting the Phoebe.

  5. You are welcome, Burst. For a city with a long water and military history, we are kind of short on historic boats.

  6. She certainly is, Joan!
